Money never creates an idea. It is always the idea that creates money. And no one could probably prove the statement more right than Vishwavir Ahuja, CEO, Bank of America (India). He is the man whose innovative ideas have earned the Bank, many a rich dividends. From being a B. Com graduate to becoming the country manager of Bank of America, it has been a long road for Vishwavir Ahuja. But then, all along he picked up the kind of experience and knowledge that few can rival in the banking industry.

After completing his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, he followed it up with an MS degree in Finance from the University of Michigan and has served the American banking giant flagship for the last 19 years. It goes to Ahuja's credit for building strong relationships with heads of leading Indian business houses, financial institutions, and the large MNCs, which are its major clients. He has also been integrally involved with the government's privatisation programme for transactions on behalf of his clients. During his long tenure, Ahuja's assignments have taken him to the US and all four metros branches of the Bank of America, India's corporate and investment banking group, credit administration, treasury and corporate planning.

Ahuja has been responsible for managing the Bank's corporate relationships and business development throughout the Indian subcontinent, across a broad range of products and services, which include project finance, domestic and international capital raising and trade finance. It's no secret that during years' of association, Ahuja brought prestigious clients and project to the Bank's coffer. Ahuja's versatile roles have added various feathers to his portfolio's cap. For example, he is on the Board of Directors of Zuari Industries India, and also on the Board of Governors of the National Institute of Bank Management.

He is also a member of the executive committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, India. But more than any responsibility, it's the desire to take Bank of America to greater heights, which fascinates Ahuja, the most. To achieve this, Ahuja don't want to expand; but wants to consolidate his gains. And as a true visionary leader, Ahuja has his plans cut out to achieve the goal.
