If mankind is born to
succeed, Sanjeev Sharma, MD, Nokia is one, who makes
competitive spirits succeed. So, here is the man with
the indomitable spirit and a leader whose visionary
approach and pragmatism has made Nokia the no 1 mobile
handset in India. It is his unrelenting efforts that
today, Nokia also happens to be the choicest handset
of gen-X. A man known for his aggressive marketing strategies,
Sharma is the recipient of the Most Respected Consumer
Durables Company award, 2004 for his unparallel achievements.
Known to read the consumers' pulse and their changing
tastes, Sharma sensed how mobile handset became a real
status symbol for the youngsters and was instrumental
in launching silkier handset in the Indian market. Not
only this, he also ensured that they are instant hits.
Sharma joined Nokia India in May 1995 as head of marketing
and went on to become MD in 2000 by dint of his sheer
hard work and discreet talent. The Nokia 1100 handset,
a special success case studies for Nokia, globally,

| Not
a new name in Indian marketing, Sharma before joining
Nokia, also worked for more than 11 years in various
companies including Reckitt Benckiser, 3M and Pepsi
and wrote numerous success stories at all levels. But
for Sharma, life is a continuous movement towards higher
excellence. He thinks it is time to move on for bigger
challenges. Soon he will be taking charge as Vice-President,
Marketing, for the Asia-Pacific region. He will be part
of both the global and the Asia-Pacific marketing teams.
Sharma also happens to be the second executive in the
Nokia India team who has been promoted for an international
assignment. A few months back, Ravneet Phokela, brand
marketing and CRM manager, moved to London to join Nokia's
global marketing team. Surely, the sky is vast and for
a man of vision and mobility like Sharma, no goal is
difficult to reach out.
