He spots his challenges pretty well, and knows how to take the bull by its horns. He has a clear vision about India's growing potential in multimedia display market and how he can ensure an expansion of the market share of his company. And in pursuing that goal, he imbibed all in one-smart work, perseverance, flawless strategy, leadership, and a vision for the future. In fact, Sanjay Dhuria is ensuring that NEC, a Japan-based manufacturer of projectors, plasma desktop monitors and LCD displays, gets a much bigger pie in the multimedia display market of India.
"India is an important multimedia display market for us, being the fastest-growing at more then 40 per cent for the last two years (2002-03). We aim to expand our market share and become the top multimedia display solution provider in Asia Pacific," he had said in an interview a couple of years back. An engineer with an MBA degree, Dhuria has more than eight years of experience in channel and direct sales with organisations like Tech Pacific, Rolta India and Summit Infotech. Today, he is the country head (India) for Multimedia Product Group for NEC Corporation, and is responsible for setting up the channel for NEC products. |
| Leading an MNC major like NEC in a huge market like India needs guts and vision. In Dhuria, the company has found the perfect man to head these operations. NEC has a structured channel for their projectors and plasma in India and is currently looking at different options to expand its LCD monitor channel. Dhuria is bullish about the new prospects of the company's new products. "We have received very encouraging response from our channel partners and the resellers in India. We are now working to ensure that we maximize the opportunities for our partners to expand their business," he says.
Dhuria is targeting the smart office segment to improve his company's prospects in India. He knows it is achievable since, as he says, display products and solutions like multimedia projectors, plasma display, LCD desktop monitors and large LCD display are all essential components of a smart office. And it is NEC which has the line-up that meets the entire criteria. His idea is to keep the Indian market as advanced as the rest of the world. "The launch of products is synchronised with our international product launches, to provide the state-of-the-art technology to our customers", Dhuria believes. It is under Dhuria that NEC for the first time has set up a service centre abroad. Why not, Dhuria can make NEC achieving bigger milestones in India. |
