A man known for his down-to-earth approach, Rohatgi, before joining the EIL, was the Director (Refineries) of BPCL for couple of years. He has also served in the boards of Certification Engineers International Ltd and EIL Asia Pacific, Malaysia.
Rohatgi's experience abroad helped him a lot. He worked in private sector in various capacities of projects and materials departments. This efficient engineer joined Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) in 1982 and headed various functions such as engineering, planning and project coordination, materials, etc. As the steward of the BPCL, Rohatgi brought about numerous changes in its operations and technological innovations.
It was only in 1993 that he took over as the General Manager (Engineering & Projects) of the BPCL and later in 1997 joined the Technical line as the GM. Today, Rohatgi is leading the EIL into the global map of engineering with a number of vital tie-ups with a number of foreign companies. In the process, this innovative engineer has brought about crucial changes to EIL which now is paying rich dividends to the company. |
