The world can only be grasped by action, not by contemplation and Martial G. Rolland, CMD, Nestle is among the few professionals who has rewritten the rules of success through his sheer action, and hard work. A great visionary, this French national can easily boast of his numerous achievements, which have achieved in such a short span of time, but prefers to remain humane and silent.
Rolland joined the Board of Directors of Nestle as the Chairman and Managing Director way back in December, 2004. Thanks to his great leadership quality and the acumen to strategize for the company, Nestle has become a household name in India today. This global brand has reached the nooks and crannies of the countries. All thanks to Rolland, who also nestle great ideas for the global brand of packaged food products.
It was Rolland's effort that this global leader is also a local market leader. Rolland has had a long association with the Nestle. He joined the Group in 1988 and has had an illustrious career with postings in India from 1989 to 1992. Rolland was also posted in Thailand (1992-1995), Pakistan (1995-2000) and Turkey (2000-2004).
Rolland's last posting was as the Market Head of Nestlé Turkey, where he made tremendous progress in increasing the market share of the company. A Masters in International Management from Inst. Commercial, Nancy, France, and Master of Business Administration from Indiana University, Pennsylvania, USA, Rolland's global education has helped him reach top of the leadership ladder.
A firm believer in the agricultural potential of the country and a leader in the strictest sense of the term, Rolland is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way to others.
According to Rolland, India has tremendous potential to become the agricultural powerhouse of the world and to translate this umpteen potential into a possibility Rolland favours a healthy partnership between the toilers of the land and the private business for mutual benefit. For him to achieve success in this direction, strategy is not that important as the quality of implementation and the quality of details.
No doubt, under Rolland's stewardship, the Nestle Group has found its perfect nestle. In fact, the future of the company is better than the best as long as this Frenchman is manning the company's future. |
