Oil is like a wild animal. Whoever captures it, has it. The statement is equally true for passion-for whoever has it, captures the limelight of success. And M S Ramachandran, Managing Director, IBP Company Limited is one such person whose passion for work has earned him several accolades within as well as outside the IBP. Known as a strict disciplinarian, Ramchandran carries with him years of experience in the oil sector and knows the working of the industry like back of his hand. After having worked in almost all the streams of the industry, Ramchandran's insightful administrative and marketing strategies have yielded rich harvest to the IBP.
The only Petroleum Company, which has been contributing to the core sector, the IBP is now partof the Indian Oil Corporation Group under the Disinvestments Plan, which came into force in 2002. In fact, IBP has always enjoyed a unique position in retail marketing and has been benefiting IOC through its established network. The IOC, on the other hand has helped IBP immensely through its vast product support, infrastructure and market leadership. Nonetheless, IBP has fortified its position by expanding its operations in other sectors like cryogenic engineering and industrial explosives, of which it's a major supplier. It has been able to do this largely through subsidiaries and joint ventures. |
| And behind all these operations, there have been professionals like Ramchandran who have guided the course of business through their uncanny experiences. Ramchandran believes that customer satisfaction is the key to capturing larger share of the market. He has worked unrelentingly to strengthen IBP's retail network. Today, it has more than 3182 retail outlets and 380 LDO agencies. With 17 product tankages at different locations and 171 consumer pumps, the IBP has consolidated its position. Knowing well that the future belongs to those who work in team and in sync with time, the IBP joined with other leading petroleum companies, in joint venture to develop petroleum pipeline network.
Today, IBP is part of the Indian petronet, which is a joint venture among four major Oil Companies including Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Infrastructure leasing and Financial Services Limited (ILFS).
IBP also manufactures and market industrial explosives and is the only manufacturer of explosives which have been accredited with the ISO-9002 Certification. A name to be reckoned with, for producing world-class cryo-vessels for industrial and biological applications, IBP is the third largest producer of small aluminum cryo-containers in the world. But these are only the few achievements of IBP. It has in fact, much greater height to scale under Ramchandran as it's said - the best is yet to come. |
