He is powerhouse of energy-enthusiastic, motivating and shining with the brilliance of his own light. Meet Juergen Schubert, Managing Director, Siemens Ltd. India who has helped create an integrated circuit of highly efficient workforce in India. A market strategist and an able administrator, Schubert has many laurels to his credit. He has helped the world's largest electrical engineering and Electronics Company climb newer heights of glory and fame. It was through his seminal efforts that the VJTI-Siemens High Voltage Laboratory was inaugurated in the country, which is the largest laboratory of its kind for educational purposes. The lab is also equipped with the country's first major Impulse Generator system and is expected to meet the electrical needs of industries in Mumbai.

Born on May 7, 1947 in Esslingen, Germany, Schubert obtained educational diploma in Professional History and joined Industrial Automation Sales and Project Management Group, at Regional Office, Siemens AG, Stuttgart in 1974. Since then, the ingenious Schubert hasn't looked back and has been climbing the organizational ladder with aplomb and swiftness. After joining Siemens' operation in India in 1996, Schubert has launched several projects and products successfully. Under his leadership, the German telecom major went for expansion by enlarging its handsets market share in the country.

It introduced as many as six new models and also entered into an agreement with the biggest IT wholesaler in the country -Tech Pacific to boost it sells. It was under Schubert that Mumbai based Siemens Information Systems Ltd assumed new significance after its inception in 1992. Now, under his supervision it is one of the major systems integrators and total solutions providers of IT Services, Business Consulting and Management Consulting. It goes to Schubert's credit for giving Siemens a new professional dimension in India. Today the German major comprises 10 companies and provides direct employment to over 10,000 persons. Currently, the group has 10 manufacturing plants, a wide network of sales and service offices across the country.

Schubert added another feather to his cap when Corporate Technology Department of Siemens AG launched its research and development center in Bangalore recently. With new opportunities opening up for Siemens in India and in Asia, Schubert is sure to the company to a far greater height than it has hitherto achieved.
