Dalal is an industry veteran with more than 18 years experience in the technology industry. Before joining Cisco in 1997, he was marketing manager at Wipro-British Telecom. He joined the company as part of a start up team for the joint venture in India and was responsible for conceiving, launching and implementing the value added network Services portfolio as a stand-alone profit-centre. Dalal is one of the first few employees of Cisco, India, who have involved in the stupendous growth of the India business, overseeing multiple roles in Sales, Channels & Business Development, over the past 10 years.

A graduate from St. Xavier's in Mumbai, Dalal also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Bombay University. He started his career with IDM and went on to join Wipro Infotech. He has contributed over 9 years of his service to Cisco and has headed the company's Enterprise and Commercial operations in India for the two years before his current appointment. Before that, Dalal had a successful stint in Singapore developing the Channels Operations & Strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. As a long-time Cisco veteran, he brings an impressive and broad range of skills to this important leadership position.

Most importantly, Dalal's foresight is Cisco's forte. According to him, government should focus more on E-governance since it can steer India towards inclusive growth and increase country competitiveness. To elevate India's economic growth to greater heights, the Union Budget should give priority to physical and social infrastructure, increasing investments in these areas. The other major thrust area would be education as India needs to develop its human resources. The Government should encourage programs that encourage the use of technology to reach basic education to rural India, technical education to smaller towns and cities.
